Making Sense of China’s Evolving Capital Markets

China is a huge and yet still young market. Extreme volatility in the Mainland A-share market since 2015 and subsequent regulatory developments have drawn significant international attention. These events have raised specific questions about how the stock market functions, as well as how it will impact the country’s market reforms and international investor confidence. Whether one agrees with the decisions taken by Chinese authorities or not, China is too important a market not to be understood properly. In this session, Charles Li will shed some light on the structural issues at the heart of problems facing China and will share his views on what Hong Kong and HKEX can offer to enhance mutual market access.
