Commodity derivatives operate with their own unique set of market dynamics. However, a number of factors more often associated with financial products are impacting how those markets function today and will do in the future. How can commodity derivatives users and providers best respond to such challenges as: regulatory requirements under MiFID II in Europe; a trend of rising correlation; and the increasingly critical role of benchmarks? What will be the impact of volatility concerns and the changing equilibrium of market participants on the continued success of effective and efficient tools for managing exposure to commodity markets?
